CAVEOLIN 1 This item detects an epitope within the internal region of Caveolin1 (Cav1). Cav1 is a 21kD scaffolding protein which is the main component of the caveolae plasma membranes found in most cell types. Two isoforms (alpha and beta) are encoded by a single transcript from this gene. _x000D__x000D_Cav1 is highly expressed in terminally differentiated or quiescent cells, suggesting a possible role for Cav1 as a negative regulator of cell proliferation. _x000D__x000D_Cav1 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of oncogenic cell transformation, tumorigenesis, and metastasis and functions as a "tumour and/or metastasis-modifying gene". For example Cav1 normally functions as a negative regulator of cell transformation and mammary tumorigenesis, whilst in prostate cancers Cav1 may function as a tumour promoter.

In order to retain the quality and the affinity of productone unchanged, please, avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube. Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Polyclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
