Properdin factor B is a heat-labile serum protein active in the alternative complement activation pathway. It is binding to the C3b component of complement._x000B__x000B_The protein has a molecular weight of 92,000 and its mean concentration in human plasma is 200 _g/ml. It has been isolated as a homogenous protein for use in antiserum production. FreundÍs complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Goat anti Human Factor B, Primary Antibodies philized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4ÁC; prolonged storage at or below -20ÁC. Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water. Dilutions may be prepared by adding phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the antiserum. Diluted antiserum should be stored at +4ÁC, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. Lyophilized at +4Á C--at least 10 years. Reconstituted at or below -20Á C--3-5 years.
