GADD34 This item recognises the protein GADD34 (growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible 34). GADD34 is a member of a group of genes whose transcript levels are increased in response to treatment with DNA damaging agents or conditions of stress. Induction of GADD34 by ionising radiation has been reported in some cell lines, regardless of p53 status. Reports suggest that GADD34 may be involved in signal transuction pathway controlling cell cycle arrest and/or apoptosis following DNA damage.
